Our Founder

on 5th August 2005 on the occasion of his 90thbirthday celebrated by PM Man Mohan Singh at Parliament House, New Delhi.

Eminent citizens of Delhi have formed a memorial Bhiku Ram Jain Foundation with a view to promote the dreams of the late Shri Bhiku Ram Jain, a distinguished parliamentarian, philanthropist, statesman, social and political personality. His secular and non-controversial attitude showed the path of sacrifice. His far sighted vision was the driving force behind several organizations and associations which he built under his many developmental programs in political, social, educational, religion and general city development. He was an inspiration, a friend and a guide who held a beacon light to move into the future with confidence and commitment. He battled and overcame the odds of life to become a successful entrepreneur, a respected politician and above all, a good human being. He was a lover of art, dance and music. A Freedom Fighter in Mahatma Gandhi's Civil Disobedience Movement, he was elected Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) in 1980. Elected Commissioner of MCD Delhi, in 1945, Chairman DESU 1958, Chairman MCD Standing Committee 1964-65, Minister of Finance-Delhi Government, 1967. As a keen educationist he served as Executive Member Delhi University Courts, Treasurer Governing Body of Hindu College, I.P.College, Kalindi College, Satyawati College, Bharti Mahila College and many religious and social trusts, associations and institutions. He was also President of organizations like Jain Sports Club, Young Men’s Tennis Club, Delhi Motor Traders Association, Delhi Petrol Dealers Assn, Federation of All India Petrol Dealers Assn, Delhi Factory Owners Federation, Sales Tax Abolition Committee, Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal, Automotive Parts Merchants Assn and many more. He was nominated Director of DCM,DCM Toyota, Hindon River Millsetc. (1951-2003), by the late Sir Lala Shriram, Founder DCM Group. He was promoter director in large Indian MNCs like Sylvania, Delton Cables, SRF. He promoted his own business, trade and industry and founded Jain Motors Group, in 1929, which has many units, providing auto parts toOEM industries, like Leyland, Mahindra’s, Simpsons, Birla Yamaha, HM, etc. Property and real estate development ventures, petrol and oil retail outlets, and being sole suppliers for special chemicals to Indian Railways were his core interest. The Foundation is committed to promote and uplift Indian contemporary art and facilitate artists, sculptors, classical dancers and musicians of India by conferring cash awards and merit certificates to them each year as per their achievements in respective fields. The Foundation aims to integrate artistic activity with individual negotiation and social interaction. With its unique theme the Foundation is the first of its kind in India and would eventually rally artists from all over the world, to promote multiculturalism through artistic aspirations.
